Short, practical and made for kitchens
Short and visual
Videos of 5–8 minutes, illustrated workbooks and interactive H5P activities you can fit around your shifts — on your phone too.
Your own route
A self-assessment and AI suggestions point you to the units you need most. You can always choose your own order.
Real kitchens, real tasks
Every unit ends with a work-based task in your kitchen or placement, and cases from food businesses in eight countries.
Learning that counts
Each module you finish earns a micro-credential. When you have the micro-credentials your profile needs, you can sit the online exam run by ICEP Slovakia, a certification body accredited to ISO/IEC 17024. Certified learners also receive a Europass Certificate Supplement in their language — so employers across Europe can see what you can do.
About the certification system →When can I start?
The first pilot cohort starts in August 2028 with VET learners; working professionals can join the second cohort from December 2028. Leave your email and we will tell you when enrolment opens.
Can I move up to the next profile?
Yes. Micro-credentials earned at a lower level count towards the next one, so you can build up from Green Kitchen Assistant to Sustainable Kitchen Technician and Circular Food Service Manager over time.
Is the course free?
Yes. The GreenPlate MOOC is co-funded by the European Union through Erasmus+, so there are no course fees.
